Kayli Morgan had a name change to Morgans Way as homage to the love Jayson has for his only daughter. Same incredible and powerful wine, different name. One of Californias (perhaps the worlds) most flamboyant, talented, contrarian wine producers is Napa Valleys Jayson Woodbridge, the owner of Hundred Acre winery. Woodbridge has been running in high gear since his debut 2000. His 100% Cabernet Sauvignons are made primarily by him, with some consulting advice from Philippe Melka.
Winemaker’s Notes:
Packed with ultra-fine tannins and a vast array of dark fruit, truffle, blackberry, and cherry pie. There is a trace of China five spice way in the background, a hint of saddle leather, and a decadent chocolate plum pudding, creme caramel with a touch of Cuban tobacco. It is a sexy composition of complexity, so layered and beguiling. I can get lost in theremesmerized in fact.Hundred Acre Morgans Way was the very first vineyard farmed with Jaysons dear friend, Jim Barbour in 2000. The soil is ancient clay mixed with volcanic pebbles and black obsidian glass scattered here and there from the eruption of Mt. St. Helena, many eons ago. The 2021 growing season turned out a micro crop of perfect, harmonized berries packed with ultra-fine tannins and a vast array of dark fruit and a SEXY composition of complexity.
